Bulls Bridge roundabout

Where the A312 meets the A437 by the canal and the big supermarket. A 2025 analysis of national crash records placed it among the UK’s most accident-prone roundabouts, with 186 recorded incidents between 2010 and 2020. We take it in stages: lane by exit, then speed, then the busy approach at peak times.

The Hayes Bypass (A312)

Five miles of dual carriageway from Bulls Bridge up through Yeading towards the A40. Joining at speed from a slip road, keeping your lane and leaving in good time are skills your test will check, and this is the road to practise them on.

Airport and motorway traffic

Lorries, coaches and taxis heading for the M4 and Heathrow share the roads in the south of Hayes and around Harlington. Learning to leave space for big vehicles and to read their indicators early makes you a calmer driver anywhere.

Uxbridge Road through Hayes End

The A4020 is a bus route lined with shops and parked cars. It is where we practise meeting traffic in narrow gaps, passing parked vehicles safely and spotting a bus about to pull out.

Not any more. DVSA lists the Hayes centre as closed. Learners from Hayes now test at Yeading (Cygnet Way, UB4) or Uxbridge, so some older directories that still show a Hayes centre are out of date.

How do I get used to Bulls Bridge roundabout?

In stages. We start with quieter times and the simplest exits, then build up to the busy approaches. The key is choosing your lane for your exit before you arrive and looking well ahead for gaps rather than at the car in front.

Can I move my Yeading test to a different centre?

Only to one of the three test centres nearest Yeading, since 9 June 2026, and you get two changes per booking. Only you can book or change it: your instructor can’t do it for you any more.

What do automatic lessons in Hayes cost?
