Bayswater and Paddington can teach you everything London asks of a driver — garden-square one-ways, the diagonals of Sussex Gardens, buses on Queensway, and the long straight run of Bayswater Road beside Hyde Park. DVSA-approved instructors, manual and automatic.
Your first 2-hour lesson is from £75 if you’re new to driving on a UK provisional licence — and you can book your first driving lesson online in about two minutes: pick your instructor, date and time.

W2 packs London’s full range into one postcode: wide, forgiving Victorian avenues to start on, and one of the city’s trickiest one-way systems to graduate to — all at Westminster’s 20mph.
Sussex Gardens, Praed Street and the streets around the station are a masterclass in reading signs early and choosing lanes in good time. Learn it calmly with dual controls and it stops being scary for good.
Buses pulling out, deliveries, pedestrians stepping off the kerb — close-quarters urban driving where observation and gentle speed win. This is where mirror habits become automatic.
A proper A-road with real junctions at Lancaster Gate and steady traffic to manage: following distance, speed control and bus-lane awareness on a road you’ll drive for the rest of your life.
Most schools assign you whoever is free. Here you choose: read each instructor’s profile, pick manual or automatic, and see their real availability before you book. You keep the same instructor lesson to lesson, so nobody re-learns your progress from scratch.
The full licence — pass in a manual and you can drive anything. Taught in dual-controlled cars by instructors who teach clutch control on real West London hills, not car parks.
Manual lessons in detailNo clutch, no stalling — many learners reach test standard sooner. A strong choice for city driving, and the licence most new cars will need anyway.
Automatic lessons in detailLessons start from your door, work or college in and around Bayswater. On the border with somewhere else? Ask on WhatsApp and you’ll get a straight answer.
We also teach next door: Notting Hill · Kensington · all of West London.

With us, £47.50 an hour as standard, taught in 2-hour lessons (£95). Your first lesson is £75 if you’re completely new to driving on a UK provisional, or £85 if you’ve had lessons before. Overseas licence holders take the standard £95 session. Every price is on the prices page before you book.
From your door in W2. First lessons usually begin on the wide, quieter streets around Westbourne Terrace and the garden squares — generous sight lines and light traffic — before you take on Queensway or the station one-ways.
No — there’s no test centre in Bayswater itself. London practical tests happen at centres like Isleworth, Greenford, Pinner, Hendon, Mill Hill and Wood Green. Your instructor recommends the right centre for you and teaches on its actual routes — see our test areas page.
It’s one of the better ones. Westminster’s streets are 20mph, the Victorian avenues are wide and forgiving, and the genuinely tricky parts — Paddington’s one-ways, the busy Queensway stretch — only arrive once you’re ready for them, in a dual-controlled car.
